We are glad that we were able to make a donation to carry out the project “National campaign for electronic waste collection”, organized by the Hai Moldova team.
Between September 15 and October 15, 76 schools in the Republic of Moldova became electronic waste collection points. 38,299 students participated in the campaign, which collected over 45 tones of electrical and electronic waste.
The Secretary of State of the Ministry of Agriculture, Regional Development and the Environment of Moldova, Iuliana Cantaragiu, mentioned that she has been a supporter of the Hai Moldova campaigns since the beginning of the movement:
“We need to change the way we look at things, it’s time to change the way we, every citizen of this country, address the waste issue. Even the few facilities for separate collection of the waste have to be utilized, as we gradually reduce the volume of waste we bury. We must strive for that. “
The event continued with a panel discussion “Garbage under the carpet. What we know about waste in Moldova ”, which spoke actively about the health risks caused by the incorrect management of waste, their consequences on drinking water and the awareness of the problem of waste management in Moldova.
Our contribution to the realization of this project is a small percentage of our plans and we want to encourage each of you to help realize other projects related to awareness of the problems that harm the environment in which we live.
